About

Analog3D is a one-person mount shop in Southern Oregon. Here’s how it happened.

The start. When Fujifilm ceased production of instant peel-apart film for the Polaroid 100 series land cameras, I got the idea for a 3D printed replacement back that allowed for standard 120 film to be shot. In 2019 I bought my first 3D printer and shared photographs taken with a modified Polaroid 450 to Instagram. As my wireless ISP Cooperative installations ramped up during the pandemic, I pivoted to Ubiquiti Airmax mounts, with the occasional Ring camera mounts thrown in.

IT and 3D printed adapters.

I started my IT business in 2010, and helped start a local cooperative wireless ISP in 2013. As Ubiquiti gained popularity with my clientele and the WISP, I found the need for custom mounts. I started adding them to my Etsy shop. After a few successful designs, requests from other installers started coming in. 2,400 orders later, this catalog is essentially a running list of mounting problems.

How the parts are made

Every design starts with the real hardware on my bench. I buy the cameras, measure them with calipers, Ubiquiti doesn't publish mounting specs, so the measurements in these designs come from the parts themselves, and test-fit every mount against the device it's built for before it's listed.

Production is made-to-order FDM 3D printing in Oregon and Idaho. I partnered with Slant3D in Boise to run my production while I am working away from home where I install UniFi networks and camera systems for hotels in the Pacific states.

The customizer

My newest mounts are parametric. Designed to be customized for your application. Pick your exact roof pitch or angle and extension length, watch the 3D preview update. It is then printed to your specifications, no more choosing between "close enough" fixed angles.
